About Us
Eston Nurture & Grow Childcare is a non-profit organization committed to providing high-quality, licensed, and government subsidized child care to families in Eston and the surrounding area. Our brand-new facility is scheduled to open in January 2026 and will be licensed for 40 spaces for children aged 6 weeks to school aged children. The centre will operate Monday to Friday from 7:15am–5:45pm.
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Director to lead our team. The Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of centre operations, including staff management, program development, financial oversight, and ensuring a safe, enriching environment for children. This leadership role requires excellent organizational skills, a strong understanding of early childhood education, and the ability to foster positive relationships with staff, families, and the community. The Director will play a key role in shaping the success of our centre and supporting its long-term growth
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations, including budgeting, enrolment, scheduling, and procurement of supplies
- Lead the recruitment, training, retention, and performance management of staff
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, supporting teamwork and professional growth
- Guide curriculum development, resource planning, and activity implementation based on the Play & Exploration framework
- Ensure compliance with all child care regulations and licensing standards
- Maintain strong communication and partnerships with families and the broader community
- Represent the centre through community engagement and social media presence
- Research and apply for funding opportunities, including grants
- Encourage ongoing professional development for staff and self
- Provide regular updates and reports to the Board of Directors
Minimum Requirements:
Qualifications
- Certificate or Diploma in Early Childhood Education (or equivalent)
- Leadership or management experience in a child care or early learning setting
- Knowledge of child development and early childhood education principles
- Strong understanding of child care licensing requirements and regulations
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar programs and social media platforms
- CPR-C and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Food Safety Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Current Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Screening
