Eston Minor Hockey Association (EMHA)

The Eston Minor Hockey Association (EMHA) is a volunteer-led organization responsible for planning, organizing, and supporting minor hockey in Eston. Working in partnership with the Eston & District Recreation Committee, the Town of Eston, the R.M. of Snipe Lake No. 259, and Hockey Saskatchewan, EMHA helps provide a positive, safe, and enjoyable hockey experience for all participants.

EMHA Responsibilities
EMHA is responsible for the hockey program itself, including:
  • Volunteer leadership and governance
  • Team formation and player development
  • Coach, manager, and volunteer support
  • Officials and equipment coordination
  • Policies, codes of conduct, and discipline
  • Communication with hockey families
  • Complaint resolution
  • Promoting fair play, sportsmanship, and player safety

Recreation Director Responsibilities

The Recreation Director provides administrative support for the hockey program, including:

  • Player registration
  • League and Hockey Saskatchewan registration
  • RAMP administration
  • Ice scheduling and recreation calendar
  • Facility bookings and program administration

Recreation Committee, Town & (RM) Responsibilities

The Eston & District Recreation Committee, Town of Eston, and R.M. of Snipe Lake No. 259 are responsible for:

  • Ownership and operation of recreation facilities
  • Recreation staffing
  • Budgets and funding
  • Registration fees and refund policies
  • Ice allocation and facility scheduling
  • Municipal insurance and facility management

How EMHA Operates

EMHA is governed by an elected Executive made up of volunteers representing the hockey program. Members elect the Executive each year at the Annual General Meeting and help guide the direction of minor hockey through meetings, voting, and volunteer participation.

The Executive works together to make decisions in the best interests of all players and families while following Hockey Saskatchewan regulations and the Association's Constitution and Policies.
